Hydraulic presses are used to manufacture flat laminates of GRP (glass reinforced plastic) and CFRP (carbon fiber reinforced plastics) or RTM (resin transfer moulding). These composite materials are used in various industries. Most parts are used in the automotive and aircraft industry because it is essential to reduce weight while keeping the stability at its maximum.
The production of these composite materials are very costly and time consuming. Customers rely on our decades of experience in the hot plate press construction. Tolerances of 1/100 mm onthe entire length (e.g. ± 0.05 mm at 3 meters) and temperatures up to 500 ° C, together with successive controlled cooling,are achieved in our hot- or combined heating and cooling presses.
There are various ways to achieve the temperatures that are required for the process of these composite materials. Electrical aluminum heating plates, registered hot plates made of steel or aluminum belong to the conventional types or, as preferred in this particular application, solid drilled steel heating plates. The high surface quality of the steel heating platesand the uniform temperature distribution by the liquid media such as thermal oil make it possible to achieve high quality standards.
